| Kekoa Kaluhiwa joins First Wind; will lead external affairs efforts in Hawaii |

First Wind, an independent U.S.-based wind energy company, today announced the addition of Mr. Kekoa Kaluhiwa to First Wind’s Hawaii Development Team as Director, External Affairs. Kaluhiwa will lead First Wind’s external affairs in Hawaii which includes grassroots community outreach, interaction with policymakers at the local, state and federal levels, and collaborative efforts with stakeholders working to implement the goals of the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative. “Kekoa’s diverse expertise in working with policymakers and stakeholders combined with his cultural knowledge and extensive experience with constituencies across the state will be a tremendous asset as we continue our efforts to increase the amount of wind energy generating electricity in the State of Hawaii,” said Paul Gaynor, First Wind Chief Executive Officer. Kaluhiwa comes to First Wind after working with U.S. Senator Daniel K. Akaka for 11 years, most recently as Executive Assistant where he focused on constituent services and natural resources. Kaluhiwa graduated with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Washington. Kaluhiwa assumes the position formerly held by D.
